Hammond police searching for 4 female theft suspects

The Hammond Police Department is seeking information about four females who are wanted in connection with at least four thefts from area businesses.

The thefts took place during business hours on January 27th and February 24, 2018. The first crime occurred at the Mini-Mart located 7348 Columbia Ave. The second incident occurred later that day at the Discount Liquors at 7448 Columbia Ave. The third incident happened on February 24th at 1113 5th Ave at Sadoni Beauty Supply and the latest took place that same day at the Grand Foods at 6835 Grand Ave.

In each of the incidents, two females enter the business and distract the employees by asking questions or asking for assistance. The second two females then enter and go to the office or counter area and steal money. Three suspects are black females in their 20’s or early 30’s and one female is in her late 40’s or early 50’s. The females have worn the same clothing in each of the thefts except one and they have covered their heads with scarf, hoodie and/or hats.

The females drive a black SUV (possibly a Hyundai Santa Fe type) with possible Illinois plates. A large amount of money and items were taken from three of the four businesses.
