Homeless man accused of stealing Harley following motorcycle crash
OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) - Ocala Police case report No. O-18-045373 tells a strange story.
It states on Monday, March 12, Alton Manley laid his 2016 Harley-Davidson XG 750 down in the middle of Florida State Road 200, to avoid slamming into another car. He left the bike on the median in the middle of the Ocala road, near Interstate 75, after his mom showed up to take him to West Marion Community Hospital.
When family members showed up to retrieve the motorcycle, it was gone. Police say it had only been about 20 minutes.
By the time detectives wrapped the case up on March 25, a homeless man was in jail. Police say Joseph Biernacki was taken into custody following a tip from another homeless man.
