IKEA recalling about 27 million chest and dressers
FOX 2 News (WJBK) -- IKEA, the Swedish founded ready-to-assemble furniture store is is recalling about 27 million chest and dressers.
The recall follows the reported deaths of two children. They died after IKEA's malm series chests tipped over and crushed them.
Consumer product safety commission wants anyone using the furnishings to stop immediately unless the furniture is securely anchored into the wall.
The children's chests and dressers are taller than 23 inches, while the adult chests and dressers are taller 29 inches.
IKEA will have a new repair program that includes a free wall anchoring kit. They are the biggest furniture retailer in the world.
