Illinois man found guilty of sexually assaulting three family members
OSWEGO, Ill. - An Illinois man was found guilty this week of sexually assaulting three family members.
Brian Hulsey, 51, of Oswego, was found guilty of six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The backstory:
The guilty verdict stemmed from an investigation that began in August 2021, when three victims, who were all family members of Hulsey, told investigators that he committed multiple horrific sexual acts starting as early as 2018.
Prosecutors said each victim was under the age of 13 when the sexual assaults occurred, one being just seven years old.
Additionally, all three victims took the stand during Hulsey's trial and described the sexual assaults committed by Hulsey.
What's next:
Hulsey was taken into custody immediately following the three-day trial. Hulsey has been on electronic home monitoring since his arrest.
He will be sentenced in May.
Due to his conviction of predatory criminal sexual assault of two minor victims, he must be sentenced to natural life in prison without the possibility of early release.
