Johns Creek Police warn of pornography blackmail scam

Johns Creek Police are warning residents of a “sextortion” scam that threatens to release a victim’s porn-viewing habits if they don't pay up.

It starts with an email claiming hackers used the victim's computer camera to record the victim watching pornography.

The scammer then threatens to send that webcam recording to the user's contact list if they aren't paid a thousand dollars in Bitcoin.

Johns Creek Police released an image of the scam email.

They said all of the grammatical and spelling errors should be a red flag that this is a scam.
