Man claiming to be armed robs Skokie bank

SKOKIE, Ill. (STMW) - A man who claimed to be armed robbed a bank Friday morning in north suburban Skokie.

The robbery occurred at 10:07 a.m. at the Albany Bank & Trust branch at 7515 N. Skokie Blvd., according to the FBI. The incident was described as a “non-takeover” robbery, but the robber did make threats that he had a weapon.

The suspect is described as a white man 45-50, Skokie police said. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black baseball cap and maroon sweatpants.

He was last seen heading away from the bank on foot, authorities said. No one was injured.
