Man dead, 2 others wounded in three separate shootings within 30 minutes on South Side

On Wednesday, three people were shot and one of them was killed all within a half hour in three separate shootings on Chicago’s South Side.

The latest victim is recovering at St. Bernard Hospital. Witnesses say the shootings are gang related and residents say it's time to take back their streets.

It was an all too familiar scene on the South Side as two women were in agony over the shooting of a loved one in the Gresham neighborhood on West 85th Street. Police say a man in his 20s was outside when someone walked up and shot him in the head just after 3:30 p.m. He later died at the hospital.

Neighbors were distraught.

"I’m shaky. I'm shaky. It's happened around here pretty often,” said William Mosely.

It’s being called another case of senseless black on black crime.

"Brother on brother. That's all I’m saying. It don't make no sense,” Mosely said.

Just before that shooting a few blocks away on South Racine, police say a 19 year-old was shot and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

In Englewood, just before 4 pm, a drive-by shooter hit a man who witnesses say was working on his car. He is expected to survive.

As of now, police have no one in custody and they are investigating.
