Local members of Congress joined gun violence prevention advocates Monday to push for tougher gun laws.
CHICAGO - A man was shot Tuesday morning in the Austin neighborhood.
The 51-year-old was walking in an alley around 1:14 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Van Buren Street when he was struck by gunfire, police said.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.
No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
