Man shot on Eisenhower overpass on West Side
A man was shot on an overpass of the Eisenhower Expressway Wednesday morning on the West Side.
He was shot in the leg about 5:20 a.m. on the Laramie Avenue bridge over Interstate 290, according to preliminary information from Illinois State Police.
He was taken to a hospital but his age and condition weren’t immediately available. State police referred further questions to Chicago Police, who did not have information on the shooting as of 6:45 a.m.
The shooting investigation shut down the two right lanes of the inbound Eisenhower, snarling traffic back to Mannheim Road, state police said.
