Man tries to sexually assault woman in Lake View
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A man tried to sexually assault a woman early Friday in the North Side Lake View neighborhood.
The man approached the 28-year-old woman from behind about 4:10 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Dakin, according to Chicago Police. He forced her into a home where he tried to sexually assaulted her, but was confronted by a witness and ran away.
The woman was taken to Thorek Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.
The suspect was described as a black man between 25 and 35 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans, police said. He had a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
He was not in custody Friday evening as Area North detectives investigated.
The Sheridan Red Line station is located less than a block away at 3940 N. Sheridan.
