Metra train strikes pedestrian near Cicero

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Friday evening near west suburban Cicero.
Metra train 1275 on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line was stopped after it struck the pedestrian about 5:50 p.m. near the Cicero Station, according to Metra. The train was scheduled to arrive at 6:25 p.m. at the Fairview Avenue Station in Downers Grove.
Train 1275 was held while authorities investigated, Metra said. Passengers were able to board another train about 9 p.m. Additional trains were getting through on the line Friday night with residual delays.
A spokesman for the Cicero Police Department did not immediately provide information about the incident.
