Near West Side stabbing: 1 critically wounded, 1 in custody

A man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that left another man critically wounded Sunday night in a Near West Side apartment complex.

Around 11:30 p.m., the two men, 41 and 56, got into an argument in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard, police said.

The 56-year-old pulled out a "sharp object" and stabbed the victim's neck and back before fleeing the scene, police said.

Paramedics took the victim to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. 

Officers located the 56-year-old and took him into custody. He was also taken to Stroger to be treated for a minor injury. He was listed in good condition.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
