Police: Body pulled from Lake Michigan near Navy Pier

A body was recovered Saturday afternoon from Lake Michigan about a half-mile off the end of Navy Pier.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit responded to a call of a person in the water at 4:20 p.m. near the pier at 600 E. Grand Ave., according to Chicago Police.

The age and gender of the person found was not known, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
