A man died after he was found unconscious on a Chicago Transit Authority bus Wednesday morning in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood.

Frank Sosnowski, 54, was found unresponsive at 11:41 a.m. on a CTA bus in the 7400 block of North Paulina Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A CTA spokeswoman said a driver found him on a 147 bus at the Howard terminal while inspecting the bus after completing the route. The driver called for police and paramedics to respond when the man wouldn’t wake up.

Sosnowski, who lived in the North Center neighborhood on the North Side, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy Thursday did not rule on the cause and manner of his death pending further investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said there were no signs of foul play. Area North detectives are conducting a death investigation.
