Police: Man found fatally stabbed after crash in Cragin

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A person was found stabbed to death Friday morning following a crash in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.
The 30-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his body about 4:40 a.m. after the vehicle he was riding in crashed in the 4800 block of West Diversey on the Northwest Side, according to Chicago Police.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead, police said. He was bleeding badly from puncture wounds to the neck. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office didn’t immediately confirm the death.
Police said they have not determined who stabbed the man or where the stabbing happened.
The driver, 27-year-old Richard Eldefonso, was uncooperative with investigators and “combative” with medical personnel while he was being treated at the scene of the crash, police said.
Eldefonso was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery for spitting at an officer and causing bodily harm to a security guard at Stroger Hospital, according to police.
