CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A northwest suburban man was killed and a woman injured in a South Loop shooting early Monday.
About 4 a.m., 27-year-old Sami Talab Salaymeh and a 23-year-old woman were in a vehicle in the 2400 block of South Michigan Avenue when two people walked up, one of whom pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Salaymeh was shot in the abdomen and arm; and the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg, authorities said.
They drove themselves to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Salaymeh was pronounced dead at 4:41 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 3800 block of Windjammer Lane in Hanover Park.
The woman was listed in good condition, police said.
