Police: Person tried to lure girl into car in Belmont Cragin

CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are searching for someone who tried to lure a girl into his vehicle Wednesday while she was walking in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The girl was walking home from school about 2:45 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Drummond Place when a male tried lure her into his vehicle, according to an alert from Chicago Police.

She ran away and was able to alert her mother to the incident, police said.

The driver was described as a male wearing a black knit skull cap, police said. The vehicle, described as a small blue vehicle with two doors and tinted windows, was last seen going north on Central Avenue.
