Police searching for hit-and-run driver who struck woman on West Side

A woman is in the hospital after a hit-and-run crash Monday night on Chicago’s West Side.

Now, the search is on for the driver.

Chicago Police are still early in their investigation after the incident, but it looks like the hit-and-run could be tied to a call of shots fired nearby.

Police were called to the 3000 block of South Pulaski where they say a grey sedan hit a 54-year-old woman and kept going. That woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was assessed to be in good condition.

The nearby shooting left police looking for shell casings in the immediate area. We are still looking for confirmation as to exactly what happened in the shooting.

Police not able to say if the hit-and-run and shooting are connected.

No further details were immediately available.
