Robbers targeting food delivery drivers on Far South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - Robbers armed with boards or a firearm are targeting food delivery drivers on the Far South Side, according to Chicago Police.
The male suspects order food to be delivered to the area of the 10700 block of South Loomis, according to the community alert from Area South detectives. When the delivery drivers arrive, they are assaulted by a group armed with 2-x-4 pieces of wood or a firearm demanding the food and money.
Robberies happened:
in the 10700 block of South Loomis on Sept. 23 and 24;
in the 1300 block of West 107th Street on Nov. 22;
and in the 1200 block of West 109th Street on Dec. 1.
Restaurants are advised to call police if they receive an order to that location, and keep records of all callers and orders. Drivers are advised to keep a minimal amount of cash on them.
