The son of a Harvey police officer was killed and three others wounded, including two security guards, in a shooting early Wednesday at a strip club in the south suburb, police said.

The shooting began about 2:10 a.m. inside the Boogie Nights club in the 14700 block of South Wood Street and then moved outside, Harvey Police Chief Greg Thomas said in a statement. Two of the wounded were guards.

Outside the club, a 25-year-old man was fatally shot. Thomas said the man, the son of a Harvey police officer, was dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Diovonni D. Keel. He lived in Harvey.

The wounded were taken to Metro South and Ingalls Memorial hospitals, Thomas said. Two of them had been released by Wednesday afternoon, while the third had been stabilized.

Thomas said the investigation was “fluid and active” Wednesday afternoon but did not release further details.

Harvey police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
