Switch problems causing delays across multiple Metra lines

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Switching problems were causing delays across multiple Metra lines Friday morning.

Switching issues at Union Station were causing delays ranging from 20 to 45 minutes in both directions on the BNSF Railway, according to service alerts on Metra’s website. Switching problems at Western Avenue delayed trains by 20 to 35 minutes on the Union Pacific/West Line.

The Milwaukee District/North Line was running about nine minutes behind schedule, while the Milwaukee District/West Line was operating 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule.
