Teens charged with burning down vacant home in Huntley

HUNTLEY (STMW) - Two teenagers have been charged with starting a fire that left a northwest suburban home a total loss last month.
A 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy, and a 17-year-old Algonquin boy are charged at juveniles with arson and criminal damage to property over $10,000, according to Huntley police.
On Jan. 15 at about 9:19 p.m., police and the Huntley Fire Protection District responded to a fire in the 11300 block of Donald Drive in Huntley, according to police.
The home was unoccupied at the time, and was left a total loss, police said. Damage was initially estimated at $245,000.
The teens were petitioned to McHenry County Juvenile Court.
