The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office said last week deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Garrison Branch Road.
The caller said an unknown man came into the home and was rummaging through the kitchen cabinets.
A young child saw the man in the kitchen before running to their bedroom for safety while the suspect ran outside the front door.
Deputies wer able to identify and locate the suspect within the hour thanks to the child's "detailed description."
The suspect later confessed to the burglary. Deputies also said the suspect had several stolen cell phones from a separate incident.

"We’re incredibly proud of this young man’s bravery," said Chief Deputy Tommy Greer said on the office's Facebook page. "His actions helped lead to a quick resolution, and helped our deputies and detectives take a dangerous individual off the streets."
