VIDEO: Panda cub Bei Bei working on his adorable tree dismounts
WASHINGTON - The youngest giant panda at the Smithsonian's National Zoo is showing off his precocious and energetic ways.
The zoo released new video Friday of Bei Bei working on his climbing skills at the zoo’s panda house.
In a post on its Facebook page, the National Zoo said, “#BeiBei has been working on his dismounts out of the trees! Giant pandas are extremely adept climbers and will often climb trees during play sessions, they also are built to withstand falls. It seems like Bei Bei has turned falling into a game.”
The male giant panda cub appears to be all recovered from life-saving surgery last November to remove a lemon-sized mass of bamboo from his small intestine.
Bei Bei will turn two years old in August.
