Volunteers spend Sunday shoveling snow for strangers

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A dozen volunteers from Pilsen, Evanston, Wicker Park and Englewood spent their Sunday shoveling snow for strangers.

The group was organized by Jahmal Cole of My Block, My Hood, My City. He said they shoveled the sidewalks and stairs on both sides of Princeton from 75th to 69th.

"There's a lot of seniors and pregnant ladies on their block. The city can be overwhelmed and often times seniors are the last to get their snow plowed," Cole said.

He said that if anyone needs help, to reach out to the group on their website, mbmhmc.com. Volunteers can go there to check in, too.
