Authorities are looking for a woman and her 2-year-old nephew, who have been missing from northwest Indiana for more than a year.

Diamond Bynum, 21, and her nephew King Walker were reported missing after their stepmother woke up from a daytime nap on July 25, 2015 and found that they were gone from their home near 5th Avenue and Matthews Street in Gary, according to a statement from the Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force.

Bynum is described as a 4-foot-8, 238-pound black woman with brown eyes and black hair, police said. King is described as a 3-foot, 34-pound black boy with brown eyes and black hair that was in dreadlocks the last time he was seen.

“Investigators strongly believe that someone knows what happened to Diamond and King, and more importantly, where they are at right now,” task force spokesman Robert Byrd said in the statement. “We are counting on information from the public to help us find them.”

Anyone with information about them is asked to contact the Gary Police Department tip line at (866) 274-6347 or submit an anonymous tip at nwimajorcrimes.com.
