CHICAGO (AP) - Hector Santiago matched a career high with 10 strikeouts over seven crisp innings, and the Los Angeles Angels roughed up Carlos Rodon on their way to a 7-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.
Kole Calhoun, Andrelton Simmons and Geovany Soto hit consecutive RBI singles during a five-run first, matching the Angels' season high for runs in an entire game. Mike Trout scored on a throwing error by first baseman Jose Abreu, and Johnny Giavotella capped the opening outburst with another RBI single.
Rodon (1-2) got only one out before he was replaced by Jake Petricka. The No. 3 pick in the 2014 amateur draft allowed six hits and walked two in the shortest of his 29 major league appearances.
