The tragedy marks the latest deaths this summer at National Parks in the West, including at Grand Canyon and Death Valley national parks. A record heat wave has claimed dozens of lives in Arizona, California, Utah, and Oregon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed on Monday that three EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Kane and Cook counties Sunday night. 

Streets that were closed in Joliet due to the severe storm that passed through Sunday morning are expected to be fully cleared by Monday morning.
