The Chicago environment on Thursday is conducive for the formation of brief funnel clouds, posing a slight risk for touchdowns. These occurrences often happen swiftly and with minimal warning, potentially lacking even a formal Tornado Warning.

After today's rain, it’s on to the much-ballyhooed warmup which will bring a string of 70s to the area starting Saturday and continuing through much of next week.

70s this weekend, possibly 80 next week. Chicago is so back.

The day starts dry in Chicago but rain moves in especially late tonight with showers continuing tomorrow before ending very early Friday morning. 

Today, we start with a few clouds and mild temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Mostly sunny skies are on the way with highs in the mid 60s. 

Chicago will have perfect weather for the eclipse today with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 60s.

The rainy weather and gloomy skies have started to recede in the Chicago area, just in time for Monday's solar eclipse!
