Chicago weather: Bitter cold temperatures to begin workweek

There was a bit of a dust-up of very light snow across the Chicago area today with high temperatures reaching around 35 degrees.

The total snowfalls will be measured in tenths of an inch though. There might be over an inch of snow in the far south suburbs and into Kankakee County but there won’t be substantial precipitation.

But then, the bitter cold temperatures will come to begin the week.

Temperatures will only reach the teens starting on Monday. Wind chills will sink below zero.

Monday will see a high of 18 degrees and Tuesday should see a high of only 14.

But by the end of the week, we’ll be back into the upper 30s.
