Girls 4 Science working to shift the tide in stem fields

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - When it comes to jobs in the stem fields - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - the difference between men and women is staggering.

For example, of all engineers, only 14 percent are women and of those women, only 5 percent are African American. But some students are working to change that.

Girls 4 Science founder and executive director Jackie Lomax, and three Girls 4 Science students - Summer Pratt, Lauryn Luangsomkham and Nia Autman – joined Good Day Chicago to talk about it.
