Good Day Chicago takes over Navy Pier for the first day of summer

What better way to kick off the summer than to spend it at one of Chicago's most iconic warm weather locales -- Navy Pier?

Good Day Chicago took its talents over to Navy Pier Monday for the first day of Chicago's most enjoyable season.

Jen Kramer, director of entertainment at Navy Pier, discusses the significance of the pier's 100th anniversary and its "centennial vision."

Not only is Navy Pier's "Centennial Wheel" the only one of its kind in the U.S., it also boasts a weather-resistant frame and can withstand winds of 115 miles per hour. You can ride the wheel for FREE on June 29, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Corey McPherrin interviews the owner of Snow Dragon Shavery, one of Navy Pier's newest sweets shops which boasts more than 10 flavors of shaved snow.
