New Wi-Fi enabled 'Hello Barbie' ignites debate about privacy
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It's the newest Barbie doll to join the Mattel family. Meet "Hello Barbie."
She doesn't just talk, she knows 8,000 lines of dialogue, and she can improvise. It all works through Wi-Fi, but buyer beware - what your child says to the doll could be used to sell you products and since the conversations are recorded, they can also be used against you in a court of law.
Law professor and author Lori Andrews joined Good Day Chicago to help explain how this new Barbie works and what Mattel plans to do with all the recordings.
