14-year-old boy shot in armpit in Englewood

CHICAGO - A teen boy was shot in Englewood Friday afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth when he was struck in the armpit by gunfire, police said.

The teen was transported to an area hospital, but his condition is currently unknown.

No offenders are in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
