1,426 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Illinois, 12 additional deaths

Illinois health officials on Saturday said another 1,426 people have tested positive for COVID-19, while another 12 people have died from the disease.

That brings the statewide total to 169,883 cases and 7,397 deaths, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state’s rolling, seven-day positivity rate is now 3.6%.

Within the last 24 hours, 38,200 tests were conducted.
