Illinois health officials Wednesday announced another 97 deaths attributed to COVID-19, raising the state’s toll to 5,621.

An additional 982 cases of the coronavirus were also reported in the state, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

To date, a total of 959,175 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Illinois, officials said.
