Attempted sexual assault reported in Bridgeport
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Police are warning residents about an attempted sexual assault last week in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.
The female victim was riding her bike through an alley in the 3200 block of South Wells at 12:15 a.m. Saturday when a male grabbed her and tried to pull her off the bike while exposing himself, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
The suspect was described as a 5-foot-8, 185-pound Hispanic or Middle Eastern male with brown eyes, short crew-cut black hair, a thin beard and a light complexion, according to police. He was wearing a dark-colored tank top and knee-length shorts.
He left the area in a red or maroon four-door car that may have had a rear spoiler, police said.
Anyone with information about the attack or the suspect is asked to contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
