Cook County authorities seek wanted fugitive who removed GPS tracker in 2022

Cook County authorities are searching for a man wanted for violating the terms of his electronic monitoring after he was charged in a shooting.

The backstory:

Isaac Martinez, 31, was placed on electronic monitoring in June 2020 after being charged in a 2019 shooting, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

In July 2022, Martinez removed his GPS tracking device while inside a Walmart in Bolingbrook, officials said. This action violated his monitoring conditions, and his whereabouts have been unknown since.

Investigators believe Martinez, whose last known address was in the 2500 block of West Flournoy Street in Chicago, may have fled the country but could now be back in the Chicago area. He has connections in Bolingbrook and has also lived in Berwyn.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information on Martinez to contact Sheriff’s Police at (708)-865-4700.
