CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Chicago Police are cautioning residents and visitors to the Near North Side after a pair of daytime robberies last week in River North and the Gold Coast.

A man in his mid-20s snuck up from behind people, implied he had a gun and demanded victims belongings, according to a community alert issued Saturday by 18th District police.

The robberies happened June 7, about 11 a.m. in the 600 block of North Dearborn and again a half-hour later in the first block of East Walton, the alert said.

Police don’t have a detailed description of the robber. Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8382.
