Driver crashes vehicle into Chicago apartment building, flees the scene: police

CHICAGO - A driver fled on foot after crashing a vehicle into an apartment building in Gresham Saturday night.

At about 9:52 p.m., the male driver of a red SUV was traveling in the 8900 block of South Ashland at a high rate of speed and struck the side of an apartment building, police said.

No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot.

Chicago police continue to investigate.
