Employees pistol-whipped, shot fired during West Rogers Park robbery

Two workers were pistol-whipped and a shot was fired during a robbery at a business Monday night in West Rogers Park.

Three gunmen entered a store around 10:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Devon Avenue and demanded money. Both workers refused to comply and were struck in the head with handguns, police said.

One of the gunmen fired a shot in the business but no one was struck. The suspects then fled the scene.

The two employees, 65 and 49, suffered cuts to their heads. They were both transported to Swedish Covenant Hospital where they were listed in good condition, according to CPD.

There is no one in custody as Area Three detectives investigated.
