Fulton County man found guilty of molesting 11-year-old

A jury has convicted a 27-year-old Fulton County man of aggravated child molesting after he was found guilty of molesting an 11-year-old girl.

Police say the young victim first met Allen Jesse Harris at a park in Union City in July of 2016 while she was with her 12-year-old cousin. During that meeting, she told Harris that she was 11-years-old.

Over six months later in December, Officers say Harris found the girl on Instagram and started messaging her. He began to talk to the girl with explicit messages, and police say he lied when the girl asked him if she had met him in the park.

Harris then met the girl in person on Jan. 17, 2017, after police say he took an Uber to her home. According to officials, he eventually went into the 11-year-old girl's bedroom, began to kiss and bite her, and then performed sexual acts before leaving at 4 a.m. the next day.

Police first began an investigation after the victim's mother discovered the messages from Harris on the girl's tablet, which included photos of Harris' penis. At that time, she immediately took her daughter to meet with Chattahoochee Hills police.

In a release, the Fulton County District Attorney included a message Harris sent to the girl, which said, “You had fun? Guess it was meant for me to run into you again.”

Police arrested Harris on Feb. 12, 2017. He later admitted meeting the victim, sending nude pictures, and having sex with the victim. During the trial, Harris claimed that the victim had lied and said she was 16 years old.

A jury found Harris guilty of aggravated child molestation, statutory rape, and electronically furnishing obscene materials to a child. He will be sentenced on Monday.
