Gurnee crash: School bus carrying 22 students collides with SUV
GURNEE, Ill. - A traffic crash involving a school bus in Gurnee on Thursday afternoon caused an SUV to flip over, but fortunately, no one was injured.

What we know:
Gurnee police responded to the crash around 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of Vineyard Drive and Mendocino Drive.
Investigators determined that a 34-year-old woman from Forest Park was driving a Lexus SUV northbound in the southbound lane of Vineyard Drive, mistakenly believing the road was two lanes.
As the school bus, which was also traveling northbound, attempted to turn left onto Mendocino Drive, the SUV struck the front corner of the bus, causing the Lexus to flip and roll over.
The bus was carrying 22 students at the time, but no injuries were reported between them or the bus driver. The bus sustained significant damage and had to be towed.
Paramedics evaluated the SUV driver at the scene, but she did not require further medical attention.

The driver of the Lexus was cited for improper lane usage, which police determined was the cause of the crash.
