Loyola student assaulted after leaving Rogers Park Red Line stop

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A Loyola student was sexually abused while walking near the university’s campus in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood Saturday night.
The victim got off the Red Line at the Granville station, walked eastbound on Granville Avenue and then northbound on Winthrop Avenue about 10:30 p.m., according to a crime alert from the school’s Department of Campus Safety.
While walking on Winthrop, the student was approached by a male and inappropriately groped twice, according to the alert. The student ran toward Regis Hall and campus safety was notified.
The suspect ran westbound on Sheridan Road. He is described as between 30 and 40 years old with a dark complexion and medium build, and was last seen wearing a white hat, dark jacket, light gray pants and white Nike gym shoes, according to the alert.
