Man shot while playing basketball in Lawndale

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A man was wounded in a shooting Tuesday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Side.

A 26-year-old man was outside playing basketball when he heard shots and realized he had been shot at 11:36 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Tripp, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the leg and was taken to Mount Sinai hospital where he was in good condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
