The Cook County medical examiner Friday confirmed 82 more deaths related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The newly confirmed deaths bring the county’s toll to 2,261, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Cook County makes up about 70% of the 3,241 COVID-19 deaths in Illinois.

Illinois health officials Friday reported 2,887 new cases of the virus, bringing the number of cases in the state to 73,760.
