HOBART, Ind. - One person is hospitalized after a shooting at a Burlington Coat Factory store in Northwest Indiana, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. Friday at the Burlington store at 2020 E. Lincoln Highway in Hobart, Indiana.
Police reported that a gun was fired inside the store, and the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.
One person was injured, though not by gunfire. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where their injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, police said.
Authorities assured there is no active threat in the area but advised the public to avoid the vicinity as the investigation continues.
No arrests have been made.
