Police: Man touched 11-year-old boy in Portage Park

A 56-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to engage in sexually-related animal crimes with an undercover police officer.

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Police are searching for a man who touched an 11-year-old inappropriately as the boy played outside Saturday night in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The boy was riding his bicycle with other children in the 4800 block of West Cornelia about 8 p.m. when the man grabbed him and inappropriately touched him, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The man said, “I thought you were my girlfriend,” the boy told police. Several citizens came out to help the children, and the suspect ran northbound on Cicero Avenue.

The suspect is described as a bald white man between 25 and 30, about 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, with with blue or hazel eyes, police said. He was last seen wearing a yellow safety vest, black sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes.
