SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A call of a man with a gun Tuesday morning that forced the lockdown of an office complex in northwest suburban Schaumburg was a “misunderstanding,” according to police.
About 10:50 a.m., someone reported seeing a man with a gun inside the Woodfield Corporate Center in the 200 block of North Martingale Road, Schaumburg Police Sgt. Christy Lindhurst said.
The incident was a “misunderstanding,” Lindhurst said. Maintenance workers had a piece of equipment that looked like it could be a gun.
“We identified everyone and determined there was no gun and everyone was safe,” Lindhurst said.
