Two restaurant robberies attempted on Far South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - Chicago Police are warning Far South Side residents of two attempted restaurant robberies in the Far South Side South Deering neighborhood.

The suspects entered a chain restaurant, approached the counter as if trying to buy something, then tried to take money from the register once it was open, according to a community alert from Area South detectives.

The robberies happened at 6:18 p.m. Nov. 25, and 12:31 p.m. Nov. 26, both in the 1900 block of East 95th Street, police said. Only one of the robberies was successful.

The suspects are described as two black men 18 and 29, 5-foot-6 and 6-foot-6, and 140-200 pounds.
